Edward Jones

A celebration of life for Edward H. Jones “Jonesy” of Sacramento will be conducted from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Sunrise Golf Course Clubhouse, 6412 Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights. Enter off Arcadia Drive for parking.

Mr. Jones died Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Kaiser Hospital in Sacramento. He was 88.

He was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Oakland. He was raised in Placerville, where he worked at the Pacific Bell Company for more than 44 years. After retiring he sub-contracted from the company until the age of 80. He was a World War II veteran, and a former resident of Nevada City. He was a member of the Placerville Masonic Lodge, and Past Commander of the American Legion, VFW Post No. 119.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda of Sacramento; stepdaughters Dawn Pollack of Melton, Wash., and Laura Obertone of Pike; son, Richard Jones of Incline Village; daughter, Terry Kliewer of Citrus Heights; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous extended family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
