Library announces new hours

The Nevada County Library announced hours reductions related to their budget cuts to start next week. Beginning Monday, the library will slash hours at its Madelyn Helling (Nevada City), Royce (Grass Valley) and Truckee locations.

The Helling library will drop from 40 hours a week of operation to 37, and will now open from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays instead of opening at 10 a.m. It’s 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. hours Monday and Thursday will stay the same.

The Grass Valley Library will drop from 40 hours per week to 35. Tuesday service will shorten from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the library will close at 5 p.m. instead of 6 p.m.

In Truckee the library will shorten its hours of operation from 40 to 38 hours per week, opening at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday instead of 10 a.m.
