Let’s express political views respectfully

The Democrats are running a nasty campaign filled with lies and misleading information. The hate that they are spewing is despicable.

In our Republican office over the last few months our volunteers have endured several verbal attacks. At the Mill Street market this summer, one of our volunteers was verbally attacked by volunteers working for the Obama and Brown campaigns. She was called profanities and felt humiliated. I was so upset about how they treated her that the next day I called their office to ask that they ask their people to refrain from doing such things.

I have had to buy Mace to keep at our office and have had to call the police because one of our volunteers was threatened. A few days ago we had our signs stolen off Highway 49. It is just getting ugly.

Why do some Democrats feel that they need to act this way to get their point across? It needs to stop. We tell people who come in our office that do not agree with our views, that is why we live in the U.S. – we have the freedom to express our views. Let’s do it respectfully.
