Leslie Simms

Leslie D. Simms, 92, of Grass Valley died Saturday, May 11, in Grass Valley.

No services are planned. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mr. Simms was born Sept. 19, 1909, in Colorado to Henry Simms and Della Catherine Jones. He was married to Leona Simms for 63 years. He was a self-employed roofer for more than 20 years, retiring to Grass Valley in 1955. He enjoyed reading, investments and cards.



He is survived by his grandsons, David Janes of the Bay Area and Matthew Janes of Bakersfield; and granddaughter Leslie Janes of Bakersfield.

He was preceded in death by his wife Feb. 20, 1997; and daughter Sharon Janes-Chandler in 1979.




Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Thrift Shop. Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
