Leola Bausch

Leola Maxine Bausch died Feb. 10 at her daughter’s home in Nevada City. She was 94.

No services are being held at this time.

Mrs. Bausch was born Aug. 11, 1913, in Pennsylvania to Charles and Claire Hart. She moved at an early age with her sister, Marie, and brothers Merle, Gramp and Chester to Buffalo, N.Y., where she met and married Edward George Bausch in 1933. In 1945, they moved to Redondo Beach and lived in the home they built in 2005.

Mrs. Bausch retired first from El Segundo Tile Factory in 1969 and then retired from the Redondo Beach Pier. She was a tireless volunteer, friend, canoer, swimmer, organist and traveler. She leaves broken hearts but thousands of happy remembrances and a lifetime of good cheer. She is missed.

Mrs. Bausch is survived by her daughters Jackie Braly, Barbara Fox and Gail Bowdoin; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward George Bausch.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills in Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
