Lawrence “Larry” Wynne Kuticka died in his sleep Oct. 27, 2007, during a camping and fishing trip in the Truckee area. He was 60.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Vinton Cemetery in Plumas County.

Mr. Kuticka was born Apr. 20, 1947, in San Diego to William and Winnona Boatman Kuticka. As a child, he was encouraged to appreciate nature and loved the outdoors, especially the desert regions. He collected rocks and aspired to be a geologist. After graduating from high school, he enrolled in the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo., before attending Sierra College in Rocklin.
