It is with great sadness that the family of Laurence Charles Nugent announces his passing on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at the age of 88 years.

Laurence Nugent (Larry) was born on October 18, 1918 in Grass Valley to Francis and Minnie (Alpers) Nugent. One of six brothers and sisters, he was raised and lived in Grass Valley. He worked at the Pennsylvania Mine of the Empire Star Group in the 1930s and Grass Valley Meat Company in the 1950s. He moved to Chico, CA in 1955 and worked at Johansen’s Meats until he retired in 1980. He was a real cowboy at heart, he loved the country, westerns, music and his guitar.

Larry will be lovingly remembered by his longtime companion, Barbara Temple, his daughter, Margaret Y. Hook (Raymond). Larry will also be fondly remembered by his three grandchildren, Cheryl Siereveld (Myrl), Steven Williamson, Reita Cole (Michel). Six great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. Step-daughters, Lani Frederich and Mary Goggia. Extended family: Linda (Dan) Longoria, 3 children. Jim (Sandy) Temple, 3 children.

A funeral service in memory of Larry will be held on Thursday, November 2, at 10 am at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens, “The Garden of the Last Supper” in Grass Valley, CA.
