Latin band picked to pluck away at Center

Nov. 9 the Telluride Mountainfilm on Tour will be held at the Del Oro Theater in Grass Valley at 7 p.m. as a benefit for Nevada City School of the Arts. Admission is $12 adults and $6 for children 12 and under; purchase tickets at BriarPatch, The Del Oro, Yabobo, and Nevada City School of the Arts. Nov. 10 is Party Hearty with Jimmi Accardi and the Wildcats – a rock ‘n’ roll event to benefit Sierra Services for the Blind. Dancing, food and door prizes/raffle for $5 in advance at Nevada City Postal Company or The Book Seller in Grass Valley; $7 at the door. Starting at 6:30 p.m. at Miners Foundry in Nevada City.
Nov. 17 a play “Lavender Roses” with a lesbian cast will be performed at the Elks Lodge in Grass Valley. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. is a social hour with refreshments and music by Paul Perry; the show is at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for $10 may be purchased at Mekka Café, Harmony Books, Briar Patch and at the door. Nov. 19 is a “Post-Petroleum Car & Bike Show” and “Fueling the Future” multimedia presentations in a “Whatcha Gonna Drive?” for a Sustainable Future” program at The Center for the Arts, Grass Valley. The first part starts at 2 p.m.; the next at 6:30 p.m. The car & bike show is free; indoor programs are $13 for all-day pass in advance, or $15 at the door. Just the afternoon (or just the evening) is $10, same-day purchase only.
