Land Trust treks begin

The Nevada County Land Trust has released its spring and summer treks brochure, with snowshoeing on March 24 kicking things off.

Mostly for fit hikers (elevations over 7,200 feet), this trek takes place at the Castle Peak Recreation Area off 1-80 at Donner Summit; snowshoes and poles are provided. While most treks are $17 for nonmembers (remember, you can join the organization on the spot and thus pay only $12 for the trek), this trek is more expensive. Beginners in snowshoeing welcomed. A professional guide will lead.

Reservations are required. Call 272-5994 for this and the brochure of all the treks.
