Lake Wildwood woman gets DUI in golf cart crash

Dorothy Teague, 59, was arrested Thursday evening for allegedly driving under the influence and causing an accident in Lake Wildwood while driving a club golf cart.

Teague was driving the cart 25 to 28 miles per hour and was headed south on Lake Wildwood Drive at 7:10 p.m. when she failed to see a 1998 green Subaru station wagon that was stopped at the intersection with Lake Forest Drive, said California Highway Patrol Officer Earl Cummins.

A juvenile female was driving the Subaru and she was attempting to make a left turn, Cummins said.

When Teague’s golf cart struck the car, her passenger, Jacque Wilson, 54, was flung forward through a Plexiglas window, suffering a possible broken clavicle and also complained of pain in her ribs and to her head. She was taken by ambulance to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, Cummins said. Teague suffered a small scrape on her left cheek and another small scrape on her leg.

She was arrested for driving under the influence and taken to Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. The results of her blood test will be available for at least one week, Cummins said.
