L. Kathryn Denton

L. Kathryn Denton, 78, of Grass Valley died Saturday, Aug. 7, at home.

In accordance with her wishes no services will be conducted.

Mrs. Denton was born March 20, 1926, in Burnside, Miss., to Willard and Annie (Williams) Campbell. She was a high school graduate and married Harold Charles Denton on Dec. 19, 1948, in Tonopah, Nev. She retired from the U.S. Forest Service in Willow Creek. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, her family and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Harold C. Denton of Grass Valley; son, Michael Denton of Eureka; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Melissa Denton of Grass Valley; brother, Leo Campbell of Redding; and grandchildren Casey and Brian Denton of Grass Valley, and Carrie Fisher of Redding. She was preceded in death by her brothers Luther, James and John Campbell; sister, Mary Jackson; and grandson, Loren Denton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
