When I picked up my mail today, there was a card mixed in with everything else that fell out of the pile I was holding. It resembled a Christmas card, but it’s too late for that.

I noticed there was no return address and it was addressed only to Jeanie and Family – no last name, no return address. It was postmarked Feb. 16, 2008, through the Sacramento Postal Facility.

I opened it and here was a beautiful card that said, “Sleep in Heavenly Peace.” A late Christmas card perhaps? I opened it and a one hundred dollar bill fell out. Inside it read, “God bless us one and all.” No name. It was handwritten, “Jesus loves you all.”

I was so overwhelmed that I cried. The little girl on the front of the card had red hair – as I do. We are having money troubles, I have cancer and I’m on disability. How would someone know?

I wondered if someone had read the Jan. 1 issue of The Union about the man who drove through my front yard and totaled my only car and wrecked our front yard and nerves. I have a lot of relatives, but they would take credit for it and sign their name.

This is truly a miracle. Whoever you are, my heartfelt thank you seems so trivial considering what you’ve done for me and the humility you’ve shown. You have forever touched my life. I will never, ever forget your kindness!

Thank you with all my heart. My faith in humanity is better than it was because of you. That money will also help more than you know.
