Golden Shoulders will be one of three bands performing original alternative and rock music Saturday at Cooper’s.

Fronted by Adam Kline, Golden Shoulders features melodic pop rock-based music with a rotating lineup of friends.

Band members Saturday will be drummer Todd Roper from Placerville (currently with Death Ray, formerly with Cake), bassist Jason Graham (formerly with Kline in the Gears), lead guitarist Ehren Haas from Nevada County and vocalist-rhythm guitarist Kline.

The band will showcase songs from Kline’s debut album, “Let My Burden Be” for Doppler Records, set for release Oct. 22.

Besides spending a fair amount of time in Sacramento recording the CD, Kline says he has spent several nights trying out the songs in Sacramento and at Tongue & Groove in San Francisco “in preparation for the main event of playing Saturday for our hometown.”

Besides Golden Shoulders, Last Season and Luster will perform from 9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cover is $5.

Cooper’s is at 235 Commercial St., Nevada City. Call 265-0116 with questions.
