Kirshna Das brings soothing voice, energy to performance

He’s a modest man. Open up his Web site page and the first image you see is of his guru, not him.

He’s also a very well-known man – in spiritual music circles and at yoga centers. To those who love kirtan, his voice is instantly recognizable.

The man is Krishna Das. He’s has taught with Ram Dass for many years and has spent much time over the years in India, deepening his practice of Bhakti Yoga, absorbing ancient truths and becoming more adept at chanting. He has sung for many saints and yogis worldwide.

But he’s also sung and recorded with Sting and played for Madonna. His CD “All One” includes music with bass player Walter Becker of Steely Dan.

An interesting person is Krishna Das. People who have fallen under the spell of the music he makes would agree. But he is only part of the magic. The other part is getting to participate in the singing oneself.

“KD is a very special person,” says Linda Savitz, presenter of the event, “When I first heard him live in 1999, his voice, his energy moved literally through out my whole being like nothing I had experienced before.”

Come see what you think. It just might take your breath away.
