Kings & Queens take their show to Cooper’s

The Nevada City band Kings & Queens (with two members, Rich and Andrea Good, shown here), Citay and Dry Spells (both San Francisco bands) are giving a show at Cooper’s in Nevada City, Saturday, June 16, starting at 9 p.m. Says SF Weekly of Kings & Queens, “Lush Spiritualized lullabyists.” The Dry Spells are into Americana and folk. Says Arthur Magazine: “Citay really nails that rich, acoustic-electric rolling tabla honey harmony sound that all those heavy bands – Sabbath and Zeppelin, especially – used to do, back when all the best musicians were inspired by what the Incredible String Band was doing and were still able (or willing) to express a feminine side to go with their preening barbarian or depressive wail aspects … This is an album without a sell-by date, with a song for every season … monumental.”

Cover is $6 for those 21 and up. Go to or call (530) 601-2415 for more information about the gig. To see the artists’ Web sites, go to or citay07 or thedryspells.
