Kim Baukol

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at Peace Lutheran Church, 828 West Main St., Grass Valley for Kim Martin Baukol who passed away on March 15. He was 54.

Mr. Baukol was born on Jan. 27, 1953, to Magnus and Celia Baukol in Starbuck, Minn. His family then moved to St. Paul, where he lived until 1970. They then moved again to Fresno, where Mr. Baukol graduated from high school in 1971.

After high school, Mr. Baukol started working in the construction business and relocated to Palo Alto. He worked for the Palo Alto Housing Corp. until 1999.



On Oct. 8, 1988, Mr. Baukol married Mary Andrews in Palo Alto and their two children were later born there. The family moved to Grass Valley in 1999. In Grass Valley, Mr. Baukol owned and operated Referred Home Repair from 1999 until 2004, when he became ill.

Mr. Baukol is survived by his wife, Mary Baukol of Grass Valley; daughter and son, Lori and Matthew of Grass Valley; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Pauline Baukol of San Francisco Bay Area; sister, Kathleen Griffin of the Bay Area; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Marcia Burnett of the Bay Area; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Monika Sullivan.




Mr. Baukol was a devoted father whose true passion in life was his children. He was dearly loved and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
