Kent Evert

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley for Kent Stewart Evert of Grass Valley.

Mr. Evert died Saturday, Nov. 2, in Grass Valley. He was 58.

He was born March 27, 1944, in Allentown, Pa. He graduated from Lincoln High School in San Francisco in 1962, studied forestry at Oregon State University in Corvalis, Ore., economics at San Francisco State University and architecture at Heald College in San Francisco.

He owned Humana Construction Co. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Sierra Club, Mesa Organization, the Sierra Fitness Center and Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Grass Valley. He enjoyed skiing, archery and hiking.

Survivors include his mother, Edna Supanich of Grass Valley; aunts, Edith Zollman of San Francisco and Anne Ossman of Denver, Colo.; second cousin and wife, Adam and Theresa Blake of Southern California; second cousins, Sarah and Kerek Logan of Pleasanton; second cousin and husband, Katherine and Reed Grimes of Evergreen, Colo.; and best-friend, Robert Mosquedo.

Memorial contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity, Emmanuel Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 235 South Church St., Grass Valley 95945, or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
