Kenneth Sauer

Memorial services for Kenneth Wayne Sauer of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grass Valley Masonic Lodge, 126 S. Auburn St. in Grass Valley. Inurnment will be at the Competine Cemetery in Farson, Iowa.

Mr. Sauer died Thursday, Sept. 23, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital. He was 90.

He was born July 31, 1914, in Farson, Iowa, to George and Theresa Sauer. He received a B.S. in forestry from Iowa State College in 1938. He married Betty Morton on June 20, 1938, in Minneapolis, Minn. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a building materials salesman. He was a member of the Grass Valley Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed cooking.



He is survived by his wife, Betty Sauer of Grass Valley; brother, Howard Sauer of Brookings, S.D.; sons David Sauer of Sacramento, and Donald Sauer of Pismo Beach; daughter, Judith Railing of Tempe, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Grass Valley Masonic Lodge, 126 S. Auburn St., Grass Valley 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
