Kenneth Henson

A memorial service was held Feb. 18 in a chapel on the grounds of the Coalesce Book Store, Morro Bay, for Kenneth B. Henson. Mr. Henson passed away Jan. 22 at home in San Luis Obispo. He was 90.

Mr. Henson was born Jan. 18, 1917. He was president of the 1935 graduating class of Richmond Union High School in Richmond.

On June 2, 1937, he married the love of his life, Hazel, in El Cerrito.



After working as an electrician for Standard Oil, in 1948 he opened Radio Mart, eventually expanding into commercial real estate. He retired to Grass Valley in 1971 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cribbage.

Mr. Henson was a past master of the Richmond Grand Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Free Masons for 50 years. He was an excellent athlete whose love for life inspired friends and family. Mr. Henson was known for his genuine smile, perceptive mind and loving words. In every way, he was a gentleman.




Mr. Henson is survived by his son, Barry; daughter, Kendra Juliet; grandchildren Toran, Andrea and Vincent; nieces Shirley, Marilyn and Shelley; wife’s sister, Valerie; and wife’s cousins Judy and Billy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; sister, Mary; and brother, Leon.
