Kelly Filipps

Memorial services for Kelly Filipps of Nevada City will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Grass Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will take place at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Filipps died Saturday, March 25, in Nevada City. She was 45.

She was born Sept. 9, 1960, in Oakland to James H. Whalin and Susan E. Egland. She graduated from Pacific Union College as a registered dental assistant. She married David A. Filipps on June 22, 1986, in Pleasant Hill. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed encouraging people, Prison Ministries, Youth Ministries, Shut-in Visitation, school volunteer work, and Discover Bible School.

She is survived by her husband, David A. Filipps of Nevada City; daughters Alexandra N. Filipps of Nevada City and Megan R. Filipps of Nevada City; mother, Susan E. Egland of Redding; stepfather, Iver J. Egland of Mill Valley; sisters Kathy E. Roberts of Walnut Creek and Gina M. Doll of Redding; and brother, Eric I. Egland of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her father, James H. Whalin.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
