Kathleen Watkins

Services will be held for Kathleen C. Watkins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Sierra Presbyterian Church, 175 Ridge Road in Nevada City.

Mrs. Watkins died Feb. 9 in Grass Valley. She was 81.

She was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Everett, Wash., to John and Eileen Oates. She attended Hoover High School in San Diego. She was married to David J. Watkins for 61 years. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in his insurance business. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon and enjoyed playing bridge.



Survivors include her daughter, Jan Spreier of Rough and Ready; son, David J. Watkins Jr. of North Pole, Alaska; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband and parents.




Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, CA 95945. Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California, Grass Valley Branch.
