Kathie Eiserle

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. May 21 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fairfield for Kathie Lynn Eiserle. The Rev. Desmond O’Reilly will officiate. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Eiserle died suddenly May 14 after she suffered a severe asthma attack at home in Fairfield. She was 56.

Mrs. Eiserle was born April 22, 1951, in Los Angeles but was a resident of Fairfield for the past 28 years.



She was a dedicated and devoted volunteer at Holy Spirit Church where she taught for 20 years and for which she was the wedding coordinator for the past 13 years.

For the past two years, she had worked as a barista at the Starbucks at North Texas Street and Travis Boulevard where she made many good friends and clientele.




She was also an active volunteer at Alta Sierra Elementary School in Grass Valley where her grandchildren attended. She also acted as an art docent for three classes.

Kathie is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dale; daughters Gretchen Mayer of Grass Valley, and Erin Eiserle of Fairfield; son-in-law, Mark Mayer; sisters Marion Dunn of Arkansas, and Kimberly Fucci of Las Vegas; brothers Calvin Dunn of Washington, Fred Ybarra of Tucson, Ariz., Anthony Ybarra of Montana, and Frankie Ybarra of Las Vegas; grandchildren Joshua and Isabella Mayer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the local Meals on Wheels, 350 Marina Center Drive, Suisun City, CA, 94585, where Mrs. Eiserle enjoyed volunteering.

Dorothy Keeny

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at the Cypress Avenue Baptist Church, 5709 Cypress Ave., Carmichael, for Dorothy M. Keeny. Pastor Brian Kaiser will officiate. Burial will take place at New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley. Mrs. Keeny passed away May 13 in Carmichael. She was 85.

Mrs. Keeny was born Oct. 5, 1921 in Graham, Texas. She attended Madera Union High School.

On June 6, 1970, she married Robert J. Keeny in Sacramento.

She was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Grass Valley, and Cypress Avenue Baptist Church in Carmichael. In her free time, she enjoyed music, sewing, quilting and gardening.

Mrs. Keeny is survived by her brother, Jim Hardin of Chico, Texas; children Judith Imel of Carmichael, Clifford Rogers of Red Bluff, David Rogers of Red Bluff, Tom Rogers of Red Bluff, and Penny Gray of Elk Grove; stepdaughters Carolynn Crabtree of Lincoln, Patti Jones of Florida, and Janet Hambrick of Sacramento; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Keeny, in 2003; brothers Robert Hardin and Clifford Hardin; and sister, Mary Utley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
