Juggling comedy act fun for the whole family

The title probably tells you all you need to know – “The Brothers from Different Mothers: A Comedy and Juggling Act.” If that captures your interest, read on.

High energy, interactive wackiness is what brothers Alex and Matt Baker bring to the stage.

Their off-the-wall antics, using juggling with unusual body parts (after all, they were footbag world champions in 1999) and audience interaction, are great for the whole family. It’s been said they can even chop vegetables in mid air.

Their stunts challenge gravity, and, some say, exceed the boundaries of the possible. They even impressed actress Jamie Lee Curtis, says The Brothers from Different Mothers Web site (who was alleged to have said “Fantastic!” when she saw them).

Opening for the brothers is magician and escape artist Scotty Walsh. They perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center, 410 South Church St., Grass Valley.

Tickets for $10 are available at Love Shack Records in Nevada City, BriarPatch Market in Grass Valley, and Cherry Records in Auburn. For more information, call St. Joe’s at 272-4725, e-mail stjcc@nccn.net or go on the Web at http://www.differentmothers.com
