Juanita Soliz

A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. May 22 at Holy Spirit Church, 1200 Redmond Ave., San Jose, for Juanita C. Soliz. Father Brendan McGuire will officiate. Mrs. Soliz passed away May 10 in Grass Valley. She was 66.

Mrs. Soliz was born Dec. 16, 1940, to Vicente and Celia (Lara) Cadena in Tolleson, Ariz.

On July 5, 1958 she married David Soliz in Reno, Nev.

Mrs. Soliz was an Oakland Athletics and a San Francisco 49ers fan. She loved people, her children, grandchildren and husband of more than 48 years.

Mrs. Soliz moved to Alta Sierra in 2005 after living in San Jose for more than 48 years.

She is survived by her husband, David of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and John of Grass Valley; sons David Jr. of Los Angeles, and Joel of San Jose; grandchildren Justin of Grass Valley, and Giselle of Los Angeles; sisters Irene of Salinas, Mary Lou of Hanford, Alice of San Jose, and Betty of El Dorado Hills; and brother, Vince of Campbell. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Celia, in 2006.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
