Josephine Stefani

Josephine Stefani died peacefully Sept. 22, just 15 days before her 96th birthday.

Josephine was born in Oleggio, Italy, immigrating to the United States in the 1930s. She attended San Francisco schools. Josephine worked for the exclusive I. Magnin department store as a Milliner and later as an assistant buyer of designer fashions. She lived in San Bruno, Calif., until 2001, when she moved to Grass Valley.

She was very dedicated to her family and always put them first in her life. She was very loved and will be deeply missed.

Josephine is survived by her niece, Susan (Paul) Piper of Penn Valley, Calif; and her nephew, Stephen (Pamela) Perrando and their sons, Anthony, Nathan and Nicholas of Fairfield, Calif.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Stefano and Maria Stefani; and her sister, Margaret “Rita” Stefani-Perrando.

Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory, 250 Race St., in Grass Valley.
