Josephine Licari

Visitation for family and friends of Josephine Grace Licari of Grass Valley will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. Burial will be at the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Hayward.

Mrs. Licari died Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Grass Valley. She was 88.

She was born July 28, 1913, in Madison, Wis., to Joseph and Angela Gianquinto. She married Vincent Licari on Nov. 22, 1941, in Rockford, Ill.

She was a banquet waitress at the Elks Club for many years. She enjoyed bingo, cards, word puzzles, crocheting and being with her family.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Josephine and Robert Andersen of Grass Valley and Angela and Paul Accomazzos of Fortuna; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Licari and Dawna Jones of Cathedral City; sister-in-law, Mary Calonico of Pleasant Hill; brother, Peter Gianquinto of Illinois; sister, Angie Harris of Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and son Michael Licari in 1995.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
