Joseph J. Schreiber

Joseph J. Schreiber of Nevada City died Aug. 10 at a Sacramento hospital. He was 77.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Saturday, Sept. 6, at The Willo, 16898 State Highway 49, Nevada City.

Mr. Schreiber was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Chicago, Ill. While living in Illinois, he was a truck driver. In California, he was a pool service owner and a custodian for Nevada County Schools. He also did trenching and lawn care, and brush clearing. He was a member of Torrance Mounted Posse and Nevada County Search and Rescue. He enjoyed outdoor work and horseback riding.



Mr. Schreiber is survived by his daughter, Susan E. Robinson of Granada Hills.

He was preceded in death by his son, James Joseph Schreiber.




Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
