Join Emma Lea Saturday at her first tea party

Babette Donaldson has written a children’s book, “Emma Lea’s First Tea Party,” and she wants to introduce it to the public with a tea party. With her will be the illustrator of the book, Jerianne Van Dijk. Both will serve cookies and tea on Saturday, June 23, at 3 p.m. at The Book Seller on Mill Street in downtown Grass Valley.

That Donaldson should write about tea is not unusual, considering she’s an expert on tea. She received her tea certification from the Specialty Tea Institute, the educational division of The Tea Council of the United States, has whipped up her own custom-blended children’s brew for the party and plans to write another book, “Emma Lea’s Magic Teapot.”

This free event is intended for children 6 years and up. Also, The Book Seller asks that all children be accompanied by an adult. Call the store at (530) 272-2131 for more information.
