John Snyder – paid memoriam

Visitation for family and friends of John Snyder (“Crazy John”) of Cascade Shores in Nevada City will be from Noon to 5:00 p.m. Friday at the Nevada City Chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. There will be no graveside services.

John, found by Nevada County Search & Rescue, died Saturday, January 8, in Nevada City. He was 55.

He was born November 19,1949, in Oildale, CA to Howard and Virginia Snyder. He graduated from Garden Grove High School in Garden Grove, CA. John moved from, Southern California to Nevada City in 1989. For 20 years he worked in engineering drilling. His passion was sailing the Fiji Islands on his home made sail boat. John was honest, had a great sense of humor, loved to make people laugh & was generous to a fault.

He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Vicki Snyder of Nevada City; brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Nina Snyder of New Mexico, Sister and brother-in-law, MaryAnn and Richard Sexton of Napa, CA, Nieces, Madeleine Snyder of Las Vegas, NV and Amber Snyder of Napa, CA, Nephew, Greg Snyder of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Snyder in 1961 and mother Virginia Snyder in 1972.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
