John Parsons

Memorial services for John Boyd Parsons of Nevada City will be conducted from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the Spirit House, 12276 Gates Place in Grass Valley.

Mr. Parsons died Monday, Jan. 17, in Nevada City. He was 62.

He was born March 3, 1942, in California, to Dale L. and Wilma Parsons. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco in 1960. He received a BA in writing from San Jose State, and other various degrees from numerous other colleges. He worked as a technical publications writer for Lockheed-Martin Corp., and at Pride Industries. He enjoyed minerals, education, mining, inventing, writing books, traveling, and was a rock hound.



He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Bernadette Parsons of Sunnyvale; nephew, Bruce Parsons of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; niece, Susan Parsons of Austin, Texas; uncle and aunt, Bob and Ozzie Wasser of Granite Bay; care providers, Cindy and Paul Pekarek of Penn Valley; and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Spirit House, P.O. Box 565, Grass Valley 95945, or the charity of the donor’s choice.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
