John Lemley

John C. Lemley, 70, of Grass Valley died Sunday, April 21, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. No services are planned. Burial will be at the Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River, Ore.



Mr. Lemley was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Hood River to Miles Charles Lemley and Lillian Carrie Gerdes. He attended school and was raised in Hood River.




He worked as a laborer in construction. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

He is survived by his mother, Lillian Sargent of Seattle; sisters Jackelyn Kiemele of Edmonds, Wash., Colleen O’Leary of Seattle and Jeanne Rayburn of San Diego; one grandson and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Lemley; and sister, Joanne Dethman.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
