John Kee

A funeral mass for John Joseph Kee of Fremont will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sonora followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Sonora.

Mr. Kee died Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto. He was 79.



He was born on Dec. 26, 1922, in Philadelphia. He was a printer for more than 50 years and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. He lived in Middlesex, N.J., for 20 years. He was a frequent visitor to Tuolumne County.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Kee of Fremont; daughters Mary Ann Kokai of New Jersey and Kathleen Kaznles of San Diego; daughter and son-in law, Carolyn and Loren Ayers of Grass Valley; sons John Kee of New Jersey, Christopher Kee of Sonora and Thomas Kee of San Diego; sisters Catherine Colfax, Anna Greninger, Agnes Perry and Eleanor Pryor, all of New Jersey, Theresa McDermott of Pennsylvania and Mary Dispoto of California; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.




He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Samantha Kee; great-granddaughter, Bailee Walsh; and brothers William, Joseph, Daniel and George Kee.

Arrangements are under the direction of Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home in Sonora.
