John Hayes

Memorial services for John Thomas Hayes of Grass Valley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Hayes died Saturday, Nov. 23, at home. He was 83.



He was born June 26, 1919, in Laverne, Okla., to Benjamin Hayes and Clema Chambers. He lived in Oregon and California and moved to the Grass Valley area 18 years ago. He married Florence Hayes on Dec. 31, 1947, in Camas, Wash.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Hayes of Grass Valley; daughters, Peggy Dimmitt of Burwell, Neb., and Susan Egan of Grass Valley; sons, Jim Hayes of Lincoln, Neb., John Hayes of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Gregory Hayes of Sunnyvale; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
