John Hayes

John Bart Hayes of Alta Sierra died Aug. 11 at Kaiser Roseville. He was 78.

Burial will take place at North Bloomfield Cemetery in North Bloomfield.

Mr. Hayes was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Alameda to John H. Hayes and Dorothy Ford.



He completed high school, and served two years in the U.S. Navy.

He married Lyn Hayes on July 7, 1948, in San Lorenzo.




Mr. Hayes worked for Coast Counties Truck and Equipment. He was a member of the Land Trust, Empire Mine, Senior Center and Welcome Wagon. He enjoyed sailing, camping, hiking, motorcycles, RVing and historical research.

Mr. Hayes is survived by his sons Todd Hayes (Quanah) of San Jose, Bob Hayes (Jean) of Plumas Lake, and Jim Hayes of Hollister; daughter, Nancy Amadeo (Dan) of Marina; wife, Lyn Hayes of Alta Sierra; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, chapter of the donor’s choice.
