John Grange

Private family services will be conducted for John “Woody” Grange of Grass Valley.

Mr. Grange died Friday, Oct. 25, in Grass Valley. He was 85.

He was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Flandreau, S.D., to John and Sigrid Grange. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.



He was an engineer at Garrett Air Research for 25 years. He was past president of its employees club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and metalworks.

He is survived by his siblings Dorothy Smith, Rachel Moe, Dean Grange and Elmo Grange; stepson, Gerald J. Garner of Pasadena; granddaughters Tracy Mullikin and Teri Garner of Torrance; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Hilton Grange; and second wife, Shirley Wilson Grange.




Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Grass Valley.
