John Frick

John “Jack” L. Frick, 91, died Thursday, Nov. 21, at Golden Empire Convalescent Home in Grass Valley.

No services are planned. Burial was at the Frick family plot in the Lompoc Cemetery.



Mr. Frick had been a resident of Grass Valley for two years. He spent his childhood and teen-age years in Lompoc. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and obtained an elementary teaching credential and taught in the Sunnyvale schools until his retirement in the 1970s. He spent many summers hiking throughout the Sierra with students from his classrooms and was described as a friend to those in need.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
