John Bellavia Jr.

Visitation for family and friends of John Bellavia Jr. of Grass Valley will be from noon to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.

Mr. Bellavia Jr. died Saturday, April 16, in Sacramento. He was 69.

He was born March 16, 1936, in Rochester, N.Y., to John and Agnes Bellavia. He married Janet on Aug. 26, 1966. He was a retired general contractor and smog technician. He was a member of the Nevada County Country Club, and SIRS. He enjoyed golf, gardening, cooking, boat racing and NASCAR racing.



He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet; children Janine of Sacramento, Laurie of Grass Valley, David of San Francisco, Ron of Potomac, Md., and John of Clovis; sister, Joan; brother-in-law, Bob; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his daughter Sherrie Mae in 1982; father, John Sr.; and mother, Agnes.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
