Johanna Edwards

Johanna Jesina “Ann” Edwards of Grass Valley died Monday, Feb. 10. She was 98.

She was born on July 22, 1904, in Amsterdam, Holland, and immigrated to the United States as a child with her family. She was raised in Seattle, and after marriage to her husband, Ed, they moved to San Francisco. She was a bookkeeper for several San Francisco business firms. Following their retirement, Ann and Ed moved to Grass Valley.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothea Nicklas, of Seattle, and dear friends Marie and Cecil Fidler of Rough and Ready.



She was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 1980; sister Lydia Verhamme; and her good friend John Parker.
