Jobs are more important than affordable housing

Why does Grass Valley and Nevada City continue with the pursuit of “low cost – affordable housing”? Check with your local realtor for houses listed at a price far below that of the formerly built low-cost housing. Maybe these buyers will have to forego their dream of four bedrooms, two baths and buy what they can afford (an older two to three bedroom). Like many of us did for our first homes, they can spend weekends renovating with a bucket of paint, a hammer and screwdriver. The Affordable Housing Subcommittee members then can use their time productively, such as bringing jobs into Nevada County.
