Joaquin Lopez Jr.

Visitation for Joaquin R. Lopez Jr. of Oakland will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Higgins Chapel, 1310 A St. in Antioch. A Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Church, 5562 Clayton Rd. in Clayton. A celebration of life will follow at the St. Bonaventure Church Hall.

Mr. Lopez died Thursday, Sept. 9. He was 35.

He was born Nov. 14, 1968, in Fort Knox, Ky., to Joaquin and Delia (Neyda) Lopez. He had worked at Auto Zone in Grass Valley for more than 10 years. He was a Raiders’ fan and had not missed a home game since they returned to Oakland.



He is survived by his wife, Kelly (McMahan) Lopez; her daughters Kristin, and Katherine; parents, Joaquin and Delia Lopez; sister, Neyda; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Chuck and Debra Johnson; brother-in-law, John Wilson; sister-in-law, Heather Creason; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kim and Paul Meade; and other numerous family members.

Memorial contributions be made to a trust fund in the name of Debra Johnson at any Washington Mutual Bank. The fund is for the education of Kristin and Katherine.
