Joan Warfield

Joan Mary Warfield, 84, of Grass Valley died Wednesday, June 30, in Grass Valley.

No services are planned at this time. Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Warfield was born May 14, 1920, in Perth, Australia. She graduated from high school in Perth and from Beautician College in Perth. She worked as a pastry chef at Castle Wood Country Club in Pleasanton, and as a chef at the Lake County Country Club. She also worked at Wal-Mart in Livermore. She was a member of the Culinary Union. She helped cook and serve food at the Senior Center in Grass Valley. She enjoyed reading about birds, bus trips to Reno, and having lunch with her friends.



She is survived by her sons Ronald Warfield and James Warfield, both of Grass Valley; grandson, Ronnie Warfield of Grass Valley; and granddaughter and grandson-in-law Thea and John Trefethen of Pleasanton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Warfield in 1960; son, Charles Allan on Nov. 22, 2000; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Warfield in 1990.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, or the Senior Center in Grass Valley.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
