Jensy Runcie

Memorial services for Jensy Runcie of Lake Wildwood will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.

Mrs. Runcie died Friday, Feb. 6, in Grass Valley. She was 79.

She was born May 4, 1924, in Roanoke, Va., to George and Mary Maitland. She graduated in 1942, from Beaver High School in West Virginia. She married Donald Runcie in 1948, in Los Angeles. She was a real estate broker in Orange County. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Legion Auxiliary L.A. First 500 Post and the Children’s Home Society. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, furniture refinishing, knitting and crafts.



She is survived by her husband, Donald Runcie, of Lake Wildwood; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Forrest Grein of Lake Wildwood; sisters Anne Maitland of Fremont and Carol Maitland of San Diego; grandchildren Don and Kim Farwell, Krista Slade, and Denise Grein; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.




Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
