Jean Jones

Jean Lucinda Jones of Grass Valley died Saturday, Jan. 12. She was 89.

At her request, no services will be held. Burial is at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.



Mrs. Jones was born Jan. 15, 1912, in Wymore, Neb., to William and Jennie (Runcle) Dollins. She married Howard Jones on March 20, 1937, in Yuma, Ariz.




She retired from Montgomery Ward as a department head after working more than 30 years for the chain.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Evangeline Chapter No. 9, Nevada City. She also enjoyed homemaking, gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her sons Richard Jones of Reno, Robert Jones of Spokane, Wash., Ronald Jones of Tigard, Ore., and Steven Jones of Littleton; and six grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband, Howard Jones, who died May 5, 1999.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
