Jean Higgins

A gathering of family and friends of Jean E. Higgins of Grass Valley will be conducted from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at 115 Townsend St. in Grass Valley.



Mrs. Higgins died Thursday, Feb. 7, following a lengthy illness. She was 63.




She was born Dec. 18, 1938, in Batavia, N.Y., to Ruth and Addison Byram. She moved to Vallejo in the early 1960s, then to Grass Valley in the mid-1970s.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Byram of Saranac, N.Y.; sister, Barbara O’Neal of Saranac; cousins Lavola Dean of Nevada City, Shari Dean of Cibola, Ariz., and Paul Dean of Grass Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews in New York.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Aid Thrift Store or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society of Northern California.
