Jazz benefit to feature local youth bands

The 5th Annual Tasty Jazz concert is taking place tomorrow night and will showcase young, local jazz talent.

The Magnolia Intermediate School Rattler Jazz Band will play at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Magnolia Intermediate School, 22431 Kingston Lane in southern Nevada County, with proceeds benefiting the Magnolia band program.

The Rattler Jazz Band is an audition-only performance group made up of 24 sixth, seventh and eighth graders from the Alta Sierra and south county neighborhoods.

The second half of the show will feature a local blues band, Phatcatz. Magnolia eighth grader Maleah Callison will be singing. Deserts and beverages will be served at intermission.

Tickets are $5 per person and $20 for a family of four or more. For more information, call 268-2815.
