Janet Roach

A celebration of life memorial service for Janet B. Roach of Lake of the Pines will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sierra Pines United Methodist Church, 22559 W. Hacienda Dr., located just outside of Lake of the Pines.

Mrs. Roach died Wednesday, Jan. 25, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 67.

She was born June 20, 1938, in San Francisco. She attended San Jose State University and worked at Hoberg’s Resort during the summer. She married William “Bill” Roach on April 24, 1960. They lived in the Bay Area. They moved to Nevada County in 1973, where she worked in real estate. She was an avid golfer, serving as captain of her golf club in 1991. She enjoyed playing bridge, pinochle, dancing, and traveling. She was a member of Sierra Pines United Methodist Church where she served on many committees and fund raising activities. She was also a volunteer and advocate for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation.



She is survived by her husband, William Roach; daughter, Andrea Roach of Ananda in Assisi, Italy; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Tony Wasley of Spring Creek, Nev.; and grandchildren McKenzie and Kayden Wasley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Constance Jane and Harris Dixon Bogue; and brother, Charles Myron Bogue.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or Sierra Pines United Methodist Church or the cancer organization of the donor’s choice.
