James Wells

Inurnment services for both James Thomas Wells and his wife, Norma will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Friday, March 24, at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside.

Mr. Wells died Tuesday, Feb. 14, in Penn Valley. He was 86.

He was born Aug. 21, 1919, in Arden, Nev., to August and Bertha Wells. He had been a resident of Penn Valley for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II for four years as a captain. He married Norma Wells in 1948, in Yuma, Ariz. He was a typesetter and also worked for the Wildwood Independent. He was a member of the Wildwood Association. He enjoyed golf, and TV sports.

He is survived by his sons Mike Wells of Thousand Oaks, Steve Wells of Glendale, and Cliff Wells of Grass Valley; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Wells in 2000.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
