James Taylor

James “Doug” Taylor died July 5 in Grass Valley.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 18, at Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley. Interment will take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was born Jan. 22, 1943, in Pittsburg, Pa., to John Dolles Taylor and Mary Jo (Douglass) Taylor. He served in the E3 USAF for four years as a Med Lab Tech. He married Lucille “Dede” Soriano on Dec. 4, 1976, at Highlands Inn in Carmel.

Mr. Taylor worked as the owner and manager of Aamco Trans. for 25 years. He was a former member of the Penn Valley Chamber, Lions Club and Rotary Club. He enjoyed sports, dancing, music and movies.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Lucille “Dede” Taylor of Penn Valley; stepsons Nathan Anderson of California and Robert Anderson of Las Flores; daughter-in-law, Laura Anderson of Las Flores, and granddaughters Katrina and Natasha Anderson of Las Flores.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jo, and son, Jeffrey Taylor.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
