James Hribal Jr.

Memorial services for James Edwin Hribal Jr. were conducted Dec. 10 at the First Baptist Church in Leadville, Colo.

Mr. Hribal died Tuesday, Dec. 4, at St. Vincent Hospital in Leadville. He was 47.

He was born Aug. 13, 1954, in Upland to James E. and Mary E. (Dennis) Hribal. He moved with his family to Nevada City in 1970, and graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1972.

After graduation he served in the U.S. Army, and then became a master craftsman in carpentry and moved to Colorado. He lived in Leadville for six years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working as a custom builder in the mountains.

He is survived by his wife, Laura (Shumaker) Hribal of Leadville; son, James Shumaker of Leadville; sisters Kim Hribal of Grass Valley and Patricia Badoud of Suisun City; brother, Lee Batrack of Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; and brother, Kerry Batrack.
