Graveside services for James A. Church of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakdale Memorial Park Cemetery, followed by memorial services at 3 p.m. at San Dimas Lodge.

Mr. Church died Friday, Feb. 7, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He was 66.

He was born on May 30, 1936, in Downey to Arthur Church and Lavora McCaulley. He married Marjorie on July 20, 1956. He was a civil engineer. He was a member of the San Dimas Masonic Lodge and Foothill Order of Eastern Star and was affiliated with the Madison Lodge and Aurora Order of the Eastern Star in San Dimas. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Church; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Keith Church and Karen Church; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Daniel Carpenter; grandchildren Craig and Stacey Carpenter and Kyle Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Beaudry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
